In this review, we are comparing two all-round tyres: the Linglong Grip Master 4S from Linglong and GoodYear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 from the renowned manufacturer Goodyear. The Goodyear model is an evolution of previous versions, specifically replacing the Vector 4Seasons Gen-2.
Across all of the tests, the GoodYear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 consistently outperformed the Linglong Grip Master 4S. In the AUTOBILD test, the GoodYear tyre ranked 6th, while the Linglong tyre came in at 14th out of 37 tyres. The Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 continued to demonstrate superiority again in another Autobild test, securing the 12th position against the Grip Master 4S which was at the 20th spot.
The GoodYear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3 shines for its broadly high-level performance, receiving commendations for short braking distances, secure handling behaviors in different weather conditions, and good hydroplaning reserves. Despite these advantages, it exhibits an average kilometer rating and a slightly increased pass-by noise. It also gets praise for good snow traction and impressive mileage performance, but reflects somewhat extended dry braking distances.
The Linglong Grip Master 4S is appreciated for its comfortable drive, good value for money, safe handling behavior on dry surfaces, and excellent comfort again with high mileage. However, it fell short with weak performance on snowy and wet surfaces, and moderate reserve in hydroplane situations.
Summing it all up, the tests show a clear preference for the GoodYear Vector 4Seasons Gen-3. It notably combines all-round performance, driving safety, and longer lifespan, although with some minor drawbacks like increased noise and average dry braking distances. On the flip side, the Linglong Grip Master 4S may offer an economical alternative for those more concerned about comfort and dry performance.
