Today's comparison focuses on two all-round tyres, the Dunlop Sport All Season and the Vredestein Quatrac.

The Dunlop Sport All Season is manufactured in France and our rating for it is 62%. It was placed 7th in the Autobild test out of 15 tyres, with its best features benefiting from comfort in driving and wet circle cornering, but also a good performance in dry handling. However, some drawbacks were noted such as understeer in snow driving, mediocre aquaplaning capabilities and somewhat extended dry braking distances.

In contrast, the Vredestein Quatrac is produced in Hungary and it boasts a much higher rating from us, 88%. It landed in 2nd place in the Autobild test proving its excellent overall performance. It particularly excelled in wet conditions like braking, circle cornering and handling. The tyre's drawbacks are mostly related to its average lifespan.

Looking in more depth, the Dunlop tyre showcased balanced handling on both wet and dry surfaces, low rolling resistance, and very good driving comfort. Sadly, it suffered under snow conditions, displayed only passable aquaplaning behaviour and had a tendency to have increased dry braking distances.

The Vredestein Quatrac tyre excelled in wet conditions, demonstrating dynamic driving behaviour in all weather, impressive winter capabilities and very good aquaplaning reserves, all whilst maintaining a pleasant low-rolling noise. However, it was found to have only average mileage performance.

Comparing the two further, the Dunlop Sport All Season presented itself as an all-rounder with dynamic handling in wet conditions, good safety reserves during curve aquaplaning and superior comfort. Although, the tyre did understeer in snowy conditions and had slightly longer dry braking distances.

The Vredestein Quatrac shined with a balanced and high-performance profile, short wet and dry braking distances, agile handling, direct steering and low rolling resistance. It only disappointed with its mediocre mileage.

In overall terms, it seems clear that the Vredestein Quatrac tire outperforms its Dunlop rival, distinguishing itself through superior performance in wet conditions, but also having fewer downsides across all tests.

It's worth mentioning that neither of these tyres have been replaced with newer models, so users can rest assured that they're still current on the market.

To conclude, if the mileage issue can be overlooked, the Vredestein Quatrac stands as the best choice for drivers seeking an all-rounder with superior wet performance and good driving comfort. However, the Dunlop Sport All Season should not be counted out, as its performance is still commendable, offering great all-round performance and comfort..
