Today we will be comparing two powerful summer tyres, the Nexen N fera Sport and the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti. As with all our comparisons, we aim to provide you with all the information necessary to make an informed choice based on your needs and preferences.
The Nexen N fera Sport, which originates from Czech Republic, comes with a strong background as the original equipment for the BMW 2-series Active Tourer. This Ultra-High Performance (UHP) tyre scored 76% on our scale; a tribute to its stability, safety, and overall performance. In the tests it conducted well, particularly excelling in aquaplaning - longitudal, wet braking and mileage. Its seventh position in the Autobild test, out of fifty contenders, is a testament to its excellent performance in challenging conditions whilst achieving a decent 5th position in ADAC's tests.
Coming from Netherlands, the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti put up a good fight, with top performances in mileage and exterior noise according to ADAC, and showing strength in wet conditions, including aquaplaning - cross, wet braking, wet handling, and wet side guide as per Autobild testing. Whilst it only scored 60% on our rating scheme, it held its own against tough competition, coming 8th in Autobild’s test and 7th in the ADAC test. Although not classed as an UHP tyre like its competitor, it managed to keep close pace in the tests.
The Nexen N fera Sport seems to be a step ahead in overall testing positions, despite the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti showing a strong performance in handling various wet conditions. It's important to note that neither of these models has been replaced with a newer tyre, so they both continue to offer the advancements and benefits that they have been recognized for.
In conclusion, if you’re after a tyre that excels in mileage or handles wet conditions well, both the Nexen N fera Sport and the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti have these strengths. The Nexen N fera Sport stands out as a UHP tyre and it also outperforms the Vredestein Ultrac Vorti overall in testing positions. Ultimately, your choice would rest on individual needs and vehicle compatibility.
