The following comparison reviews the Firestone Multiseason 2 and Vredestein Quatrac tyres. These tyres were tested extensively on various parameters to evaluate their performance. The comparison aims to provide potential buyers with an insight into the strengths and weaknesses of each tyre and to provide a thorough analysis of their respective performances in multiple tests.

The Firestone Multiseason 2, constructed in Italy, scored 67% in our ratings. This Firestone winter tyre excelled in the wet handling lap and showed impressive grip during all the snow tests, as evidenced in the AutoZeitung 2019 and Autobild 2023 tests. Additionally, the tyre demonstrated low rolling resistance, which is an added benefit for fuel efficiency. However, the tyre showed some weaknesses. These included extended dry braking and a slightly below-average comfort level. Its poor curve aquaplaning safety reserves and prolonged dry braking were also noted in the Autobild 2023 and Autobild 2022 tests, respectively.

On the other hand, the Vredestein Quatrac, made in Hungary, garnered a higher rating of 94%. This Vredestein allround tyre received positive feedback for its good dry braking and handling, wet handling lap performance, and snow performance from the AutoZeitung 2019 test. It also impressed in the Autobild 2023 and Autobild 2022 tests with its dynamic handling in all weather conditions, good winter qualities, and considerable aquaplaning reserves. Nevertheless, the tyre fell short in terms of average wet and snow braking and higher-than-average rolling resistance. The tyre's lifespan was also reported as average.

Overall Test Results

In mutual test results, the Multiseason 2 from Firestone ranked 6th out of 32 tyres in the Autobild test, its best features being rolling resistance and snow traction. The Quatrac from Vredestein, on the other hand, ranked second, outshining its competitor in various parameters such as wet braking, cornering, and handling.

In conclusion, these tyres exhibit distinct characteristics which you should consider based on your driving style and conditions. The Firestone Multiseason 2 shines with impressive snow grip and low rolling resistance but falls short in dry braking and comfort level. Meanwhile, the Vredestein Quatrac stands out in terms of all-around performance but lacks slightly in terms of rolling resistance and tyre lifespan.
