The two summer tyres in our comparison are the Continental SportContact 7 (SC7) and the Nexen N fera Sport (NFS). While the SC7 tyre is in the Ultra Ultra High Performance (UUHP) class, the NFS tyre comes under the Ultra High Performance (UHP) class. The SC7, made in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Portugal, was previously associated with high-performance tyres like the SportContact 6, SportContact 5 and SportContact 3. The NFS tyre, made in the Czech Republic and is the original equipment for BMW 2-series Active Tourer.

In Nexen's tests, the N fera Sport achieved an overall rating of 67%, with positives including good dry performance, high mileage potential, low wear and tear, low weight and fuel consumption. Where it lost points was in dry ride comfort and aquaplaning resistance. In contrast, the tests by Continental revealed some different results for the SportContact 7. Despite this tyre's sub-optimal noise level and slight weakness in wet cornering, it proved to be very balanced, with short braking distances on wet surfaces and a very high level of grip in dry braking and cornering

Summing up test positions, the Continental SportContact 7 consistently seized the top spots in ADAC, SportAuto, and Autobild, ranking 1st, 1st, and 2nd, respectively. In comparison, the Nexen N fera Sport secured a less impressive 10th position in ADAC, 11th in SportAuto, and 8th in Autobild.

When comparing best features, the SC7 excelled in Dry braking, Dry and Wet handling, Dry lane-changing, and Wet braking, whereas the NFS, while no features were highlighted in SportAuto's test, stood out in aspects like Aquaplaning - longitudal and Exterior noise in Autobild's test.

In terms of test summaries, the SportContact 7 received praises for its performance on dry tracks and good aquaplaning reserves while its ride comfort was seen as average. N fera Sport, on the other hand, was complimented for its good aquaplaning reserves and quiet ride noise, but criticized for oversteering behaviour on dry tracks.

Verdict: The SC7 outshines the NFS in most categories, making it a better overall performer. It's noteworthy, however, that the NFS tire still boasts respectable performances in areas such as dry performance and fuel efficiency.
