Falken offroad/allterrain (A/T) summer tyres - market overview, tests, reviews
Falken's summer lineup ranges from ultra-high-performance rubber through to dedicated EV and touring tyres, and rather than working through the brand's entire catalogue, we've focused this overview on the models that have actually featured in recent independent tests. The three below cover Falken's most relevant current summer tyres across the performance, electric-vehicle, and touring segments.
The Falken Azenis RS820 is Falken's newer performance offering, tested twice so far. Its 2026 TYRE REVIEWS outing highlighted a quiet ride on the road (71.6 dB), competitive wet braking, and decent aquaplaning resistance, though wet handling pace and subjective feel came in below average. Autobild's 2025 test, which rated it "uspokojivé", found convincing cornering stability and short dry braking distances with a harmonious, smooth-transitioning character, but flagged somewhat loud road noise and minor aquaplaning weaknesses.
The Falken e.Ziex is a dedicated EV tyre that has already built up a strong four-test record since 2023 and carries a rating of 89. Its most recent 2025 Automotorsport test rated it "velmi dobré" and found the best braking performance in the field on both wet and dry roads, along with dynamic yet safe wet cornering, comfortable rolling, and low rolling resistance, offset by aquaplaning safety deficits and noticeable cornering noise. Autobild's 2025 test praised its low rolling resistance, good aquaplaning reserves, and strong dry dynamics, with moderate wet grip and only satisfactory mileage as drawbacks. Automotorsport's earlier 2023 test similarly found very short wet and dry braking distances with low rolling resistance and quiet operation, though it noted sluggish response and increased slip risk in puddles mid-corner. A 2026 Automotorsport test rated it "dobré", again citing safe understeering behaviour and very good ride comfort, balanced against somewhat longer wet braking distances and less stable, load-change-sensitive handling in wet corners.
The Falken ZIEX ZE320 is the touring model of the range, succeeding the earlier Falken ZIEX ZE310 Ecorun, and it's by far the most extensively tested of the three, with five results since 2025 and an overall rating of 80. It took outright victory at Autoexpress in 2026, posting the fastest lap on both the wet and dry handling circuits, the best dry braking distance by nearly half a metre, and the third-quietest result in the field, with only below-par straight-line wet braking as a weakness. Die Reifentester also rated it "dobré", highlighting the best dry braking distance (33.6 m), best ride comfort, and best longitudinal aquaplaning performance in that test, though lateral aquaplaning and outright wet braking lagged the leaders. AvD rated it "velmi doporučeno", praising its wet braking, aquaplaning resistance, and quiet operation, while noting weaker economy and mileage figures and a higher rolling resistance than the top group. ADAC's 2026 test settled on "uspokojivé", describing a balanced profile between wet and dry performance at an attractive price, without any standout best-in-class results, and the tyre also appeared in Aftonbladet's 2025 test field.
