Tyre Reviews compared ten all-season tyres in 225/40 R18 on a VW Golf GTI Clubsport. Snow testing took place in Ivalo, Finland; dry, wet and road testing in Mireval, France. The test was published on September 14, 2026.
Goodyear Vector All Season 4 finished first with 97.7%, followed by Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport at 97.2% and Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 at 97.0%. Goodyear combined strong wet and snow performance with low noise and rolling resistance. The Sport Michelin led wet braking and efficiency; Pirelli led dry braking, curved aquaplaning and comfort. The regular CrossClimate 3 dominated the snow disciplines but placed eighth overall. Royal Black finished last and needed 43.79 m to stop in the wet, versus 31.82 m for the best tyre.
The source results grid weights dry performance at 25%, wet at 40%, snow at 20%, comfort at 10% and efficiency at 5%. Overall scores below are those published in that grid; they are not Tirelab's cross-test ratings.

Goodyear Vector All Season 4
Winner with 97.7%. Strong wet grip, stable handling and competitive snow performance, with low noise and rolling resistance.
- Best wet circle and subjective wet handling.
- Second in wet braking and timed wet handling.
- Seventh in straight aquaplaning; fourth in dry braking.
Michelin CrossClimate 3 Sport
Second with 97.2%. Strong braking and direct dry-road response, offset by higher noise and less convincing snow breakaway behaviour.
- Best wet braking: 31.82 m.
- Lowest rolling resistance: 7.56 kg/t.
- Loudest measured tyre; eighth in timed wet handling.
Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3
Third with 97.0%. Dry braking, standing-water resistance and comfort stood out; wet braking and snow braking were weaker.
- Best dry braking: 35.5 m.
- Best curved aquaplaning and comfort.
- Last in snow braking; eighth in wet braking.
Vredestein Quatrac (★92)
Fourth with 96.4%. Strong wet and snow performance, quiet running and good comfort, with softer steering and weaker dry braking.
- Best straight aquaplaning: 90.77 km/h.
- Quietest measured tyre: 69.25 dB.
- Ninth in dry braking; higher rolling resistance.
Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6
Fifth with 96.1%. Strong dry braking, aquaplaning resistance and comfort, but less competitive snow results and efficiency.
- Second in dry braking: 36.1 m.
- Good comfort and standing-water resistance.
- Ninth in rolling resistance and timed snow handling.
Continental AllSeasonContact 2
Sixth with 95.6%. Fast dry handling and reassuring subjective snow behaviour, with weaker aquaplaning results.
- Fastest dry handling: 92.54 s.
- Low measured noise and strong subjective snow handling.
- Second last in both aquaplaning tests.
Hankook Kinergy 4S2
Seventh with 95.4%. Competitive dry and wet handling, while rolling resistance and braking limited the overall result.

- Strong wet handling and subjective feedback.
- Highest rolling resistance: 9.11 kg/t.
Michelin CrossClimate 3
Eighth with 95.3%. The strongest snow tyre in this group, but wet grip and dry-road precision held it back overall.

- Best snow traction, timed handling and subjective handling.
- Ninth in wet braking and timed wet handling.
Nokian Seasonproof 2
Ninth with 94.3%. Very fast timed wet handling and short wet braking, but weaker dry handling, comfort and snow traction.
- Fastest wet handling: 66.84 s.
- Joint third in wet braking: 32.36 m.
- Last in dry handling, snow traction and comfort.
Royal Black Royal AS II
Last with 87.6%. Low rolling resistance and usable snow behaviour could not compensate for substantially weaker wet safety.
- Second-lowest rolling resistance: 7.76 kg/t.
- Snow braking and comfort were usable.
- Last in every wet discipline; wet braking: 43.79 m.
